Pele In Disguise
Here from another world, shiny and black
and forgotten,
making my way as a white girl collecting
dusty specks of remembrance,
blessed molecules of earth resonating
with the force that created them, shifting
power here and back, back and here –
until the shiny black emerges, and ebony
flecks of suspecting enter the white girl’s eyes.
